Keep in mind...
The Leaderboard measures engagement by students and relevant groupings (e.g. student organization) in your pathway. Group Leaderboard ranking is determined by a weighted engagement score. Here's a video on the group leaderboard for a visual:
To calculate the engagement score for a "Group," there are 4 variables considered:
1. The amount of points that are acquired by the members of a Group.
- For example, if members of Student Org X acquired a combined total of 1000 points, they would score higher than Student Org Y whose members acquired a combined total of 750 points.
2. The percentage of students that are active within the Group.
- For example, if Student Org X has 10 active members out of 100 total members (10% active), they would score less than Student Org Y that has 10 active members out of 50 total members (20% active).
- Org X has 1,000 points that come from the 10 active members. Their score would be 100.
- 1,000 points * (10/100) = 100
- Org Y has 750 points that come from the 10 active members. Their score would be 150.
- 750 points * (10/50) = 150
- Org X has 1,000 points that come from the 10 active members. Their score would be 100.
3. A points multiplier for activities tagged with 1 or more other Groups.
- For example, say members of Student Org X and Student Org Y have both acquired a total of 5000 points, but 1000 of the points acquired by Student Org X were from activities tagged with another student org and only 500 of the points acquired by Student Org Y were from activities tagged with another student org. In this case Student Org X would score higher.
4. A points multiplier for activities tagged with 1 or more employer.
- For example, say members of Student Org X and Student Org Y have both acquired a total of 5000 points, but 1000 of the points acquired by Student Org X were from activities tagged with an employer and only 500 of the points acquired by Student Org Y were from activities tagged with an employer. In this case Student Org X would score higher.
Below is more information on the Group Leaderboard:
1. To access the Group Leaderboard, log on to the web app and go to the Leaderboard tab on the left-side toolbar. Make sure that you are in the Groups section, not the Students section.
2. The Group Leaderboard displays the top groups, per the filters you apply. Standard filters include:
- All Time - the time interval by month, semester, or year.
- Levels - the overall level of the student.
3. Your university has the ability to set customer group filters for the Leaderboard as well. Depending on the custom filters they choose, you may have access to additional groupings. In the example below, there are 5 custom filters available:
- Classification: the most engaged student classification group
- Class and section: the most engaged Class and section
- Major: the most engaged majors
- Minor: the most engaged minors
- Residence hall: the most engaged residence halls
You can share any view of the Leaderboard that you create. Simply click the Share button in the top right (once you have the desired filters applied) to copy the link, and then paste that link wherever you'd like.
