Keep in mind...
- To begin the process, please contact your representative from Suitable's University Success Team if you would like to add Handshake to your subscription.
- You must have access to a Handshake account with Amazon S3 and Scheduled Reporting Access.
Before we begin...
Open two tabs, one for Suitable and one for Handshake.
In Suitable:
- Sign in at app.suitable.co, then navigate to the logo in the top left corner
- Switch to the Organization, then navigate to Settings on the left
- Navigate to the Handshake Settings tab at the top
Event Import Report Configuration
In Handshake: Navigate to Data, then Analytics > Reports > Create Report > Template > Events
- In the report filters at the top, manage the following filters:
- Remove Student Attendees > Archived? (Yes/No)
- Remove Student Attendees > Status > is > active
- Add Events > Status > is approved, cancelled
- Add Events > Start Date Date > is on or after > (relative) > 1 > days ago
- For the report columns, choose the following:
- Event Categories > Name List
- Event Type > Name
- Events > Description
- Events > Time • End Date Date
- Events > Time • Start Date Date
- Events > ID
- Events > Name
- Events > Status
- Events > Time • Updated At Date
- Institution Labels > Name List
- To the left of the blue Run button towards the top of the page:
- Update the Viewer Time Zone to UTC
- Run the report to ensure data is populating as expected, then save the report - we recommend including Suitable in the title for easy searching.
- Next, schedule the report. Choose Options in the top right, then Schedule
- Choose Amazon S3 at the top

Return to Suitable, and begin copying in the requested information in Handshake. This will include:
- Bucket Name
- Bucket Path - for the path, change it to the value listed under the desired Feed in Suitable
- Bucket Region - ensure this region is changed to us-east-1, N. Virginia
- Bucket Credentials
- Access Key
- Secret Key
- In Handshake, at the bottom of the schedule settings, select JSON as the file type, and schedule the report to run daily.
- Run a test report to verify Suitable is receiving the report, and you're done!
Event Attendance Report Configuration
In Handshake:
- Navigate to Data, then Analytics > Reports > Create Report > Template > Events
- In the report filters at the top, add the following filters:
- Student Attendees > Archived? (Yes/No)
- Student Attendees > Status > is > active
- Attendees > Checked In? (Yes/No) > is > Yes
- Attendees > Checked In At Date > is on or after > (relative) > 1 > days ago
- Attendees > Checked In At Time > is not null
- For the report columns, choose the following. Be sure that the columns are in this exact order:
- Events > ID

Identity Column - choose one from below that matches the Username coming to Suitable:
- Student Attendees > Auth Identifier
- Student Attendees > Card Id
- Student Attendees > Email - Institution
- Student Attendees > Email - Primary
- Student Attendees > Username
- Student Attendees > ID

- Run the report to ensure data is populating as expected, then save the report - we recommend including Suitable in the title for easy searching.
- Next, schedule the report. Choose Options in the top right, then Schedule
- Choose Amazon S3 at the top

Career Fair Event Import Report Configuration
In Handshake: Navigate to Data, then Analytics > Reports > Create Report > Template > Career Fairs
- In the report filters at the top, manage the following filters:
- Remove Student Attendees > Archived? (Yes/No)
- Remove Student Attendees > Status > is > active
- Add Career Fairs > Status > is published
- Add Career Fair Dates and Times > Start Date > is on or after > (relative) > 1 > months ago
- For the report columns, choose the following:
- Career Fairs > Updated at > Time
- Career Fairs > Name
- Career Fairs > ID
- Career Fairs > Status
- Career Fairs > Type
- Career Fairs > Student Description
- Career Fair Dates and Times > Start Time
- Career Fair Dates and Times > End Time
- To the left of the blue Run button towards the top of the page:
- Update the Viewer Time Zone to UTC
- Run the report to ensure data is populating as expected, then save the report - we recommend including Suitable in the title for easy searching.
- Next, schedule the report. Choose Options in the top right, then Schedule
- Choose Amazon S3 at the top

- In the report filters at the top, add the following filters:
- Student Attendees > Archived? (Yes/No) > is > No
- Student Attendees > Status > is > active
- Career Fair Session Attendees > Checked In? (Yes/No) > is > Yes
- Career Fair Session Attendees > Checked In At Date > is on or after > (relative) > 1 > days ago
- Career Fair Session Attendees > Checked In At Time > is not null
- For the report columns, choose the following. Be sure that the columns are in this exact order:
- Career Fairs > ID
