Experience Categories serve as umbrellas to house smaller experience tags within. Adding an experience tag to an activity makes it easier for students to filter through activities, and allows program administrators to run reports and analyze data based on your tags.
Experience Categories’ corresponding experience tags are displayed on each activity in the order the Experience Category is listed in the data tab. The Experience Categories are ordered as follows:
Symbols are listed above numbers (“- Test category”, “1. Test category”)
Numbers are listed above letters (“1. Test category”, “Test category”)
Letters are listed alphabetically (“Category tested”, “Test category”)
How to create Experience Categories/Tags:
1. From the Dashboard, find your name in the bottom left hand corner, click settings, then data.
2. Click Create Experience Category.
3. When the window appears, add the title of the category and identify the possible values/tags within that category.

- Note: Global Administrators have the option to require that all newly created activities be tagged in selected categories. To turn this feature on, toggle to "Yes" at the bottom of the window.
4. If added correctly, you will receive a message confirming the new tag.
How to add an Experience Tag to an activity:
1. Head to the Activities tab on the left-side toolbar > Create a new activity
2. Tag an activity with an experience tag within the Detail tab.

- If you are required to add an Experience Tag, it will be indicated with an asterisk (red arrow).
- You can also add an Experience Tag that is not required (blue arrow).
How to add an Experience Tag to an existing Experience Category:
1. From the Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Data
2. Select Experience Categories. To the right of the category, click Add Tag.
3. Enter name.
4. Select Save Changes
How to delete Experience Categories:
1. From the Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Data
2. Select Experience Categories. To the right of the category, click Delete Category.
How to delete Experience Tags:
1. From the Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Data
2. Select Experience Categories. Hover over the experience tag within the category and click Remove.
How to toggle required Experience Categories on and off
1. From the Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Data
2. Select Experience Categories.
3. Find the Experience Category you want to be a mandatory tag.
4. Below the Category and Tags, you will see a toggle switch. Click to set to "Yes" - this will ensure that this tag be required for all newly created activities. Click it again to set back to "No".
