Suitable can help you unlock the power of mobile devices. Through your administrative dashboard, you can send out push notifications directly to your students' smartphones. You can pick between four types of notifications. You will choose the date and time for the push notification to be sent as well as the individual or group of students who will receive it. Click the Send Push Notification button in the top right corner of your dashboard to send one!

For students to receive a push notification, they must turn their app notifications on: 

News & Nudges:

• These notifications are a great way to advertise important information or ask students to take certain actions. Examples may include:
  • News about a speaker coming to campus
  • Key deadlines for applications or submissions
  • Last-minute changes in event details
  • Career fair or orientation agendas
  • Asking students to update their account information (class standing, major, etc.).

These notifications must have a title up to 120 characters, and a body up to 4,000 characters.

Linked Announcement:

• These notifications will help you promote and drive traffic to specific web pages. When a student receives and clicks on this notification, Suitable will pull up the web page you linked to the notification. Examples of links:
  • Satisfaction surveys
  • Event RSVP
  • Interesting websites

These notifications must have a title up to 120 characters, and a link to any publicly accessible web page that is valid. Please include the full URL with https://

Achievement Recommendation:

• These notifications make it easy to advise and support students through specific activities and achievements. Examples for this notification type:
  • Upcoming special event or series of events that can help students satisfy a requirement
  • Mandatory enrollment applications, assessments, or completion surveys

These notifications must include the name of the target achievement from the Notification Builder, and include at least one recommended activity related to the target achievement.

Experience Set Recommendation:

• These notifications make it easy to advise and support students through specific activities in order to complete an experience set. Examples for this notification type:
  • Upcoming events or available tasks you would like to draw students' attention to in order for them to work toward completing an experience set

These notifications must include the name of the target experience set from the Notification Builder, and include at least one recommended activity related to the target achievement.
