Student data Filters can be used to provide additional data for each student's account, such as Classification, Major, Minor, College, Residence Hall, Class Section, etc.
Within each filter, you must define the possible values (e.g. if the filter is Business Majors, the cohort values might be similar to the example below: Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, etc.).

How to create Student Data Filters
1. From the Dashboard, click your name in the bottom left corner, navigate to Settings > Data
2. Select Create Student Data Filter.
3. The 'Add a student data filter' will pop up. Once selected, add the student data filter and fill in the remaining information. Once done, click Add student data filter in the bottom right.
- Review the questions at the bottom of the pop-up and switch the toggle to yes/no depending on your program's preferences.
4. If added correctly, you will receive a message confirming the new tag.
Editing Data Filters
Within each Data Filter, you can:
- Add Cohort
- Add the # of students
- Remove the cohort
- Add the ability for students to belong to multiple cohorts within a Data Filter
- Allow students to assign themselves to a cohort
- Update whether the filter can be used on the leaderboard
- Update whether the filter is a priority data filter
- Delete the Data Filter
Adding Cohort After Creating a Data Filter
1. In the Data Filter, click the button that says Add Cohort.
2. A box will pop up above your current cohorts, type the name of your cohort.
3. Click Save Changes.
Removing a Cohort After Creating a Data Filter
1. Move your mouse to the right of the cohort you are trying to remove, the word "remove" will appear.
2. Click Save Changes.
Adding the number of students in a cohort to a Data Filter
1. Move your mouse to the # of students.
2. Move your mouse directly below the # of students box and a box with up and down arrows will appear, use the arrows or type a number in.
3. Click Save Changes.
Adding the ability for students to assign themselves to cohorts within a Data Filter
1. Scroll down to the yes or no buttons, make sure allow students to assign themselves to a cohort is pointed to yes.
2. Determine if you want students to assign themselves to only one cohort or multiple, and change the button to single cohort or multiple cohorts.
3. Click Save Changes.
Updating if the Data Filter can be Used on a Leaderboard
1. Scroll down to the yes or no buttons, find should this data filter be a priority data filter toggle yes or no.
2. Click Save Changes.
Updating if the Data Filter is a Priority Data Filter
1. Scroll down and locate the 'Priority data filter?'
2. Toggle yes to enable the data filter as a priority.
2. Click Save Changes.
3. View the priority data filters being highlighted in blue.
Updating Account Status - Archiving and Unarchiving
1. From the Dashboard, click your name in the bottom left corner, navigate to Settings > User Management
2. Select the action menu under the three dots associated with that student.
3. Select 'Archive'
4. User's status has updated to Archived.
Viewing Unarchived Users
You can view archived students in your student list by selecting the 'Account status' filter.
- Select 'Archived'
- Select 'Save'
Unarchiving Users
You can change archived students' status by selecting 'Unarchive' under the action menu.
